Over the past year, residents have been able to watch construction advance on the Victorian-style TV Production and Recording Studio located at the front entrance of the North Shore High School campus. Currently, the framed wooden shell has been erected (including the walls and roof), the windows and doors have been added, and students are working diligently on the “wrap- around” porch!
Mr. Fichtman said, “This project links local architectural history to the Long Island Studies Curriculum. It is a unique life-long learning experience for all the students and teachers involved.”
The state-of-the art TV and Production Studio is a collaboration between North Shore students and community members funded by generous grants from the Viking Foundation. Supplies and services have also been donated by various contractors in the community.
As you pass by North Shore High School, please take a look at this incredible structure which will impact generations of North Shore students in the future. Kudos to all of the students and faculty who have been working so hard on this project.
