A third grader at Glenwood Landing Elementary School was one of the winners of the Nassau Reading Council’s Annual Young Authors Contest. Students from over 80 schools in Nassau County participated in the contest which required each student to write a personal narrative. The winning piece was titled, “Flames on the Loose.”

An award ceremony was held on June 1st at Molloy College. The ceremony was attended by administrators, teachers and proud family members. Each winner read his/her personal narrative to the audience and received an anthology including all the winning entries, as well as a journal for future writing. Additionally, she was honored by trustees at a recent North Shore Board of Education meeting. Congratulations.
