New School Sign Dedicated to Mr. Williams

On June 23, 2009, a new school sign was installed at the entrance of the North Shore Middle School dedicated to Mr. Bob Williams, an administrator and teacher who worked in education for 45 years. At the request of his students, a small ceremony was held in his honor as the sign was dedicated to Mr. Williams and the 20 years that he spent working in the North Shore School District. In attendance was his wife Brana Williams, administrators, faculty, friends, colleagues and his many, many students.

Principal Marc Ferris said, “Prior to his recent passing, Mr. Williams worked with a small group of middle school students to help raise money, design and schedule the installation of the sign.” He added, “This was Bob’s way of leaving something for the North Shore Community before his retirement.” Principal Ferris spoke warmly about Mr. Williams and his dedication to the North Shore Schools and his many students. He thanked his wife Brana who later graciously wrote these kind words to the faculty, students, parents and administrators in the North Shore School District:

“I want to thank you all for your deep expressions of sympathy to me and to my family.  Every card, phone call, gift, hug and tear helped me to remember how grateful I am for my years with Bob. If his warmth, cheerful optimism and love of life and learning gave some special meaning to those who knew him, then his was a life well spent. Although I want more, much more of him, I am thankful and cherish the time we had. Again, my sincere thanks for your kindness,”    - Brana Williams
