Glen Head fourth graders became hardworking historians as they created a “Living Timeline” of historic times. Parents, families and faculty members were invited to take “A Walk Through History” to encounter colonists, loyalists, patriots and even native Americans! To culminate the school year, groups of excited parents were able to experience momentous re-enacted events including the Age of Exploration, Colonial Times and the American Revolution asstudent docents led tours through history in the Glen Head gymnasium.
Fourth grade teachers agreed that, “The Living Timeline was an intensive project that supported critical thinking and enabled our students to learn the relationship between cause and effect.”
Many thanks to all the fourth graders who worked so hard to learn about the different significant events in history and convey their studies in such a unique and creative manner. Additionally, bravo to the fourth grade teachers who made learning not only fun but challenging and exciting!
