Journalism Program Helps Students Successfully Learn Skills to Succeed
North Shore High School's Journalism program has grown over the past several years; it has not only helped to create an award-winning school newspaper, The Viking View, but it has also caused a number of students to pursue a Journalism-based career.
From being accepted into some of the top Journalism colleges in the country including Syracuse University and the University of Missouri, to working for such news organizations including CBS, North Shore's students are given quite an opportunity to develop an interest in Journalism and learn some of the most important skills that are needed to succeed in this fast-paced and important field.
Under the direction of teacher Sara Millman, North Shore students have the option of taking two semester-long Journalism classes that focus on Print and Broadcast Journalism and/or becoming active members of the school's newspaper staff during after-school hours.
Congratulations to high school students including Sarah Webb, Lauren Gerard and Rob DeLucia who earlier in the school year successfully had their letters to the editor published in popular national magazines including Seventeen Magazine, Fitness Magazine and Hockey News respectively.
