Seventh Graders Experiment with Slime
Article and photos by Shelly Newman
On the Friday before Halloween, seventh graders in Ms. Laura Napoli’s chemistry class at North Shore Middle School participated in a “slime” experiment. Clad in wonderful costumes, you could see the excitement on the faces of the young scientists as they eagerly waited to see what would happen as Ms. Napoli added the “magic ingredient” into their colorful cups already filled with paint and glue.
As the students patiently stirred their potions for two minutes (no less!) with Popsicle sticks, the liquid “gooey” substance turned to “slime” to everyone’s delight! You could hear the joyful screams of “oohs and aahs” from the class all the way down the hall!
