Three NSHS Women Athletes Sign National Letters of Intent

Director of Athletics Don Lang proudly announced that three North Shore High School senior athletes recently signed National Letters of Intent (NLI). A Letter of Intent is a binding agreement between a prospective student-athlete and an institution. Once signed, the institution agrees to provide that student with financial aid (if eligible under the NCAA rules) for one academic year in exchange for that student’s agreement to attend the institution for one academic year. Additionally, all colleges and universities that participate in the NLI program agree to not recruit these student athletes once he or she signs the NLI.

Congratulations go out to Nicole Galluzzo, gymnastics, who will be attending the University of Pittsburgh, Kristen Giovanniello, lacrosse, who signed a Letter of Intent for Dartmouth College, and Kathleen Lennon, lacrosse, who will be a freshman at the University of Albany in the fall. All three of these young women expressed their excitement and joy to achieve this prestigious accomplishment for all of their hard work and dedication.

At the National Letter of Intent ceremony, Mr. Lang praised these student-athletes and encouraged parents, faculty, administrators and friends in the audience to recognize and celebrate their tremendous success. Additionally, outside media including News 12 was on hand to document this event. Best of luck goes out to each of these women athletes in the future!
