Sea Cliff Students Are Strummin’ and Drummin’
Article by Shelly Newman
At North Shore Schools, all of our elementary students had the opportunity to experience Strummin’ and Drummin,’ a lively, fresh, very funky approach to kid’s music as part of the school-wide enrichment event programs led by Diane Krupin (SC), Audra Marcantonio (GWL) and Brian Kline (GH).

Strummin’ and Drummin’ is the creative ensemble of two brothers, both professional musicians, both teachers, both with a great sense of humor. Together with their friend Captain Kenny, the three talented musicians perform songs from around the world, original music, and popular children’s favorites! It combines catchy lyrics with world rhythms along with styles of blues and jazz. It is common to see the children singing and dancing in their seats to the beat of multicultural sounds. At the end, all of the students are invited to play an assortment of instruments on stage with the musicians.

Sea Cliff Enrichment teacher Diane Krupin commented, “This program provides the students with an educational, hands-on experience that creates meaningful and memorable learning. It is wonderful to see the children have so much fun while exploring diversity and world cultures through music and movement.”
