Students in Karen Rasin’s class at Glen Head Elementary School invited their
parents and friends to a Habitat Celebration. Ms Rasin said, “This annual
event is a culmination of all we have learned about Long Island habitats,
adaptations, food webs, the animal kingdom and more!” She added, “It is an
interdisciplinary study that incorporates language arts, science and social studies.”
During the Habitat Celebration, the students proudly sang six songs about habitats,
shared their favorite parts of the study, and presented their final projects and
informational picture books to their parents and invited guests.
