Zachary Cohn Wins Honorable Mention
in Latin Declamatio Contest
Congratulations are due to Zachary Cohn for winning Honorable Mention in the Level III competition at the Latin Declamatio contest hosted by the Suffolk Classical Association at Stony Brook University. This is the first year that North Shore participated in this annual event.
North Shore teachers Mr. Bongiovanni and Mr. Whalley accompanied a large group of Latin students to give Zachary and fellow Latinist Rachel Kersten moral support. Both of them should be commended for their hard work in memorizing their passages, and for the courage to declaim before a large audience of their peers. Special praise goes out to Zachary for his stirring rendition of Livy's story of the Death of Lucretia.
