Glenwood Landing began its month long CREW (Curious Readers Enthusiastic Writers) festival with an exciting school-wide assembly kicked off by the CREW cheerleaders. This year, the theme is Uncover & Discover!
A number of activities (some new and some traditional) will be held this year including: The Word of the Day, Sea Cliff Author Suzy Kline, Guess Who (staff baby picture contest), Guest Reader visits by friends or family, Book Fair, Button Design Contest and many, many library activities. Additionally, every year the students are challenged during CREW to read more books than the year before. Last year, a total of approximately 2,273 books were read by the GWL students. This year, they are hoping to surpass this amount!
In April, there will be a closing ceremony held to culminate the CREW festival. Many thanks go out to the teachers, staff and the entire CREW committee who are all essential in the success of this event as well as the Glenwood Landing School-Community Association (SCA).
