Kiwanis Students of the Month (Sept- Nov)

The North Shore Schools, Glen Head - The Kiwanis Club of North Shore has honored the following three students from North Shore High School as their Students of the Month for September to November 2011. Each of the students was selected based on their academic record, participation in extracurricular activities and their involvement in community service. Congratulations to all three students and to those that will be honored in the upcoming months.

Kiwanis Student of the Month for September 2011
Honors: National Honor Society (Science), Tri-M Honor Society, All County and LISFA (Viola) Participation, Community Service Merit Award, and P.E. Student of the Month
Extracurricular Activities: Women’s Swim Team, Newspaper Club, Chamber Orchestra, and Metropolitan Youth Orchestra.
Community Service: Lector at St. Mary’s Church, Roslyn, LIJ Hospital volunteer (President of the Junior Auxiliary)
College: Undecided, torn between journalism and medicine. Applied to schools in Virginia and North Carolina.
Advice to NS Students: “Don’t give up. As difficult as it seems, to last four years with tests, quizzes, and homework –it will all be worth it! You will be rewarded if you work hard.”

Honors: National Honor Society, Honor Roll and High Honor Roll, Student of the Month (Special Education).
Extracurricular Activities: Theatre Production (Light, Sound and Stage Crew).
Community Service: Relay-For-Life (Co-Online Chair/Co-Student Chair), Girl Scouts (received Bronze, Silver and Gold Award)
College: Hopes to attend Marist College and major in social work.
Advice to NS Students: “Definitely do as much as you can and never give up.”
