North Shore High School Social Studies Trip to NYC
HS Social Studies Students Visit Time Square to Learn About Large Scale Marketing Campaigns
On Wednesday, October 25, North Shore High School classes visited New York City for a field research trip on demographic styles in large scale marketing campaigns. This was part of a social studies unit on marketing.
Social Studies teacher, Maram Mabrouk said, “My students went to Manhattan to learn to identify target demographics as well as the propaganda techniques used by corporations to target their consumers.” She continued, “Time Square was a perfect location to see the diverse array of large scale traditional and digital campaigns. Upon returning to North Shore High School, my Spin classes have to create their own advertising campaigns that use similar techniques to target two different demographic groups.”
