Board of Education, Trustee, George Pombar Trustee, for the Board since 2001. George is a Vice President and Chief Risk Officer of a N.Y. City Financial institution managing large budgets, staff and multiple projects. “I feel stronger these days about my participation on the school Board as my extensive financial experience can be of greater assistance during these pressing economic times. Budgeting properly and long-term budget planning has never in recent times been more important than now.” He added, “It has become one of the most important priorities of any school Board. If schools are to survive the way that they are accustomed to - by providing quality education as demonstrated by the North Shore Schools - we must apply experienced financial management for the years ahead.” |
Qualifications/Committees: Serves on Coordinating Council Committee, Audit Committee and Internal Auditor Sub-Committee. George and his wife are residents of Glen Head where he heads a Civic group, an Alliance group, and is a Civic representative of the community.
