September meeting minutes were approved.
The new Fruitful Bars did not sell well at the HS cafeteria in September. The buyer suggested setting up a sampling day, which was agreed upon and took place on October 20th. The sampling was so successful that two orders were needed from the supplier within the following week.
The subject of working to amend, via proposal, the HS students' permission to leave campus property during their lunch period was discussed. A proposal to allow only upper grades (11 and 12) off-campus privileges will be considered.
Snapple 100% Juiced! drinks were tested at this meeting alongside Minute Maid and Welch's brands. After taste tests and label inspections, the Snapple brand was favored by comparison as the best choice.
Taco/Nacho Day at the HS was a big success. Servers wore sombreros, and tacos and nachos were served along with a chips-and-salsa table. Over 250 meals were sold that day, compared to a daily average of 160 - 180. The idea of expanding on theme lunch days such as this to other ethnic foods (e.g., Chinese) was discussed.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:10 p.m.
NEXT MEETING DATE: Thursday, November 30 at 10 a.m. in the Alumni Rm.
(Notification will be sent to all on this email in the event that the date is moved to Fri., Dec. 1st)
