North Shore Key Club Spreads Holiday Joy to NOSH & Cohen Children’s Medical Center
December 16th was a great day in the Glen Cove neighborhood with Santa coming to town… to visit the NOSH families. Santa, (played by North Shore Kiwanian John Kle) was delighted to pose with the children as he handed out candy canes supplied by the North Shore Key Club. In addition, the Key Club elves provided holiday stockings for the children who attended the event. Ms. Julia Salat said, “More than 500 families were given holiday food bags supplied by NOSH, a local food bank servicing families in the surrounding communities.”
She added, “Santa gave NOSH a check in the hopes it would assist this organization with their huge job to help families in need. Their goal is to assist 1,400 families which is truly a big challenge, and the Kiwanis Club of North Shore is glad to help!”
But that’s not all! On behalf of the North Shore High School Key Club, “Thank you to everyone who participated in this year's annual toy drive for the Cohen Children's Medical Center. All five North Shore Schools participated in the toy drive.”
Ms. Salat stated, “Because of your generosity, you made an ordinary day into something special for the children at Cohen. A special thank you to the high school's main office for providing us with the space for the toy collection and the custodial team that is always on hand to pack up the numerous toys and load up the bus for the journey to Cohen.” The North Shore Key Club concluded by saying, “To one and all, have a very happy and healthy holiday!”
Congratulations to the North Shore Key Club for receiving an award from the North Shore Hispanic Chamber of Commerce on December 20, 2023. The dinner was held at the Metropolitan Restaurant in Glen Cove. Please look for more on this story in the Glen Cove Record Pilot.
