At the North Shore Schools Board of Education Town meeting on January 11, 2018, Superintendent Dr. Peter Giarrizzo and the Board will have a general discussion on the upcoming budget process and status. Dr. Giarrizzo said, “The budget process will be revised to account for a more precise projection of expenditures based on student and educational program needs and the staffing necessary to support them. The initial 2018-19 Budget Presentation will take place on Thursday, February 8, 2018.” 

We encourage you to stay informed about the school budget. Please join us at upcoming school Board meetings on the following dates in the High School Library at 7:30 PM (unless noted otherwise):

• January 25:  Update on Budget Development Process and Status of Expenditures and Revenues (North Shore Middle School)
• February 8: Superintendent Initial Budget Presentation
• March 1: Line by Line Budget Review on topics including Instruction, Technology, Community Services, Athletics, Special Education, Guidance, and Staffing
• March 15: Line by Line Budget Review on topics including Employee Benefits, Debt Service, Revenue and Financing Sources, and Fund Balance
• March 29: The Board of Education Adopts the 2018-19 Budget
• May 2: Meet the Candidates Night (Wed., HS Cafeteria, 8 PM)
• May 3: Town Meeting/2018-19 Budget Reading
• May 15: The Budget Vote/Election of Trustees is on Tuesday, May 15, in the North Shore High School Gym from 7 am -10 pm
